GO ITHACA serves residents, commuters, employers, and organizations throughout Tompkins County, New York. Our staff work remotely, enabling us to live by our agency's values of reducing transportation pollution and eliminating unnecessary single-occupant vehicles (SOVs) from our roads and streets.

HOW MUCH DOES MEMBERSHIP COST?
Nothing! Our transportation benefits are funded through local, state, and federal grants, allowing eligibile commuters and organizations to register for membership at no cost to them.
WHO CAN BECOME A GO ITHACA MEMBER?
GO ITHACA offers membership options for commuters of all income levels, as well as employers, property managers, and community groups.
Students/employees of Cornell University, Ithaca College, and Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) are presently ineligible for membership with GO ITHACA.
Youth (those age 17 and under) are presently ineligible for membership with GO ITHACA.
HOW DO I BECOME A GO ITHACA MEMBER?
Fill out our Membership Interest Form and hit 'submit!' A GO ITHACA staff member will reach out to you to invite you to book an appointment with us.
Book a virtual Membership Registration Appointment (MRA) with a GO ITHACA staff member so that we can learn about your commuting needs and complete your membership registration.
Make a Individualized Commuter Plan (ICP) with your designated GO ITHACA staff member for receiving your benefits and checking in with us throughout the year so that we can continue supporting your mobility needs.
I AM A PROVIDER, ADVOCATE, OR GUARDIAN. CAN I BOOK A MEMBERSHIP APPOINTMENT ON A CLIENT'S BEHALF?
Yes! Any and all providers, guardians, advocates are welcome to complete the Membership Interest Form on a client's behalf and support that client throughout the entire membership registration process as needed.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO REGISTER TO BECOME A MEMBER?
A member of our team will reach out to you via phone and/or email within five (5) business days of receipt of your Membership Interest Form to schedule a Membership Registration Appointment. This appointment may occur virtually or in person. At your Registration Appointment, we will develop an Individual Commuter Plan for you and complete our Membership Registration Form together.
WHAT IS EASY ACCESS?
EASY ACCESS is one of our two membership pathways for individual commuters in Tompkins County. Our EASY ACCESS Membership plan offers enhanced transportation benefits for income-eligible commuters. GO ITHACA has been nationally recognized for our work to break barriers to accessing transportation for those who experience disproportionate marginalization from essential mobility services.
WHO QUALIFIES FOR EASY ACCESS?
Any commuter whose household income is at 150% or less of the Federal Poverty Line is eligible for EASY ACCESS Membership. During your Membership Registration Appointment, we will ask to see verification of income, such as a SNAP or Medicaid card.
WHAT ADDITIONAL BENEFITS DO EASY ACCESS MEMBERS RECEIVE?
EASY ACCESS members receive additional transit discounts including but not limited to no-cost Ithaca Bikeshare membership, monthly credits for Ithaca Carshare, extra Rescue Ride vouchers, and other benefits. Click here for a full breakdown of EASY ACCESS benefits.
WHAT BENEFITS ARE INCLUDED WITH MEMBERSHIP?

HOW MANY BENEFITS CAN I USE?
Members are strongly encouraged to utilize all of the benefits included in their membership pathway to build a transportation plan that works for them.
HOW DO I ACCESS MY BENEFITS?
Once your membership is approved, you will receive a Membership Packet in your email with instructions for activating and utilizing each benefit.
WHAT IS THE RESCUE RIDE PROGRAM?
Rescue Ride helps members get to a destination when an unexpected emergency with their sustainable mode of transportation occurs. Click here to see what qualifies as an unexpected emergency for our Rescue Ride Program.
HOW DO I REQUEST A RESCUE RIDE?
Any EASY ACCESS Member should call 2-1-1 on their phone. The Operator will be able to assist you with obtaining an Uber ride worth up to $75.00!
Any STANDARD Member should pay for their ride up front and then complete our Rescue Ride Claim Form (with receipt of payment). Once our team verifies your Rescue Ride Claim, we will mail you a direct check for the cost of the ride up to $75.00!
CAN I USE THE RESCUE RIDE PROGRAM MORE THAN ONCE?
Yes! STANDARD Members are eligible for up to 4 Rescue Ride Claims per year. EASY ACCESS Members are eligible for up to 8 Rescue Ride vouchers per year. All Rescue Ride allotments for all members refresh at the beginning of every year to their original allotments.
